Current Priorities
Issue
Drug offences and drug related crimes such as violence and theft. Agreed at Police Liaison Group community meeting on 13/03/2025.
Action
The Ward Team encourages the community to continue reporting criminal and Anti-Social Behaviour linked to illegal drugs. We have followed up on information given to us and targeted our patrols around any identified "Hot Spots". We have made arrests of those identified to be using our community to use, buy or sell illegal drugs. We have worked closely with local affected businesses to ensure all crime is reported and any evidence captured. We have used this evidence to prosecute those committing drug related crimes in our community and deter others from doing so.
Issue
Theft from motor vehicles and theft of motor vehicles. Agreed at Police Liaison Group community meeting on 13/03/2025.
Action
We have monitored crime patterns closely and used this information to patrol any emerging "Hot Spots". We have given crime prevention advice to residents in affected areas and conducted patrols to identify unlocked vehicles at risk, alerting the vehicle owners.
We have reviewed vehicle crime reports to ensure all enquiries are completed and used our local policing knowledge to identify offenders when possible.
Issue
Anti Social Behaviour in parks and open spaces on the ward. Agreed at Police Liaison Group community meeting on 13/03/2025.
Action
Regular patrols are completed in and around our open spaces. We have identified peak times, increased patrols at these times and requested additional police resources when required. Anti-Social Behaviour warnings have been issued to offenders, along with legal notices to desist or be arrested issued to those found to be repeatedly causing Anti-Social Behaviour in our community.
We have conducted regular joint patrols with Richmond Council’s Park Guard officers to engage with those community members using our parks and open spaces and listen to their concerns. During these patrols we have conducted weapons sweeps and found and removed a number of discarded or hidden weapons from our community.
