Current Priorities

Issue

Vehicle Interference - Over a number of areas within West Hill there have been a number of reports, mostly cars being interfered with.

Action

Through intelligence led policing officers will identify locations for patrols and potential offenders as part of the summer crime plan. Promoting of crime prevention through social media, leaflet drops and engagement with owners of vehicles who have been identified at the highest risk. Variable shift changes to target emerging trends and targeting offenders by providing high visibility and plain clothes patrols.

Issue

To reduce the number of burglaries including shed burglaries across the ward. Due to the high volume of residential buildings on the ward, there continues to be potential for burglaries with shed, garages and outbuildings being targeted.

Action

Burglary across the borough has reduced significantly over the last 18 months with Wandworth achieving the highest percentage reduction in London. This has been achieved through proactive patrolling, crime data analysis, intelligence sharing and predictive crime mapping. We will continue with these tactics to achieve further reductions and deliver on our pledges to lower crime.
Crime prevention advice is provided by means of home visits, cocooning and use of new online platform Met Engage.
