Action
We have conducted speed checks in hotspot locations across the district and offered safety education or Traffic Offence Reports to those caught speeding.
In Harleston, four section 59 warnings for moped ASB have been given out, and targeted patrols continue to tackle the issue.
Officers have been doing speed checks and foot patrols to tackle vehicle ASB in Loddon because of the concerns about A146 roundabout roadworks and increased traffic through the village.
The driver of a vehicle with an excessively loud exhaust who was performing wheel spins early in the morning through Little Melton and Hethersett was given a Section 59 warning for the anti-social behaviour. This means if the vehicle is seen by an officer displaying any ASB in the future it will be seized.
A vehicle was seen speeding at 90mph on the A47 in early August and stopped by officers. The driver failed a drug wipe, only had a provisional licence, had no insurance and two bald tyres. He was also found in possession of class B drugs and a knife. He was arrested and taken to custody.
Proactive arrests for drink and drug drivers have been made by officers when on patrols.
We continue to enforce the Public Space Protection Order where possible and engage positively with legitimate car meets with the use of the Op Octane vehicle
