Current Priorities

Issue

Anti-social behaviour in Gt Yarmouth Town Centre.

Action

To address anti-social behaviour we have:

• Regular high visibility foot patrols across town centre particularly around hotspot areas where we tend to see anti-social behaviour including, King Street, Market Place, St Peters Road, St George’s Park, Marine Parade, Regent Road and Princes Road.
• Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) launched 1st April by the council that gives more powers to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) within the Gt Yarmouth borough.
• Taking opportunities to conduct stop searches when appropriate
• Attended a few events as part of Alcohol Awareness Week in July promoting the Community Alcohol Partnership focused around alcohol misuse in young people.
• Addressing the PSPO issuing breaches and dispersal notices and arresting those that are committing a criminal offence.
• Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) given to a prolific offenders who commit ASB. Those who continue to cause ASB are being targeted through the ASB escalation model with various warning letters including CPN’s/CPW’s.
• Working with partners such as the council and housing to address local ASB issues including the Rough Sleeper team to help address street homelessness.
• Working closely with retail stores to address ASB concerns.

If you would like to report anti-social behaviour to us you can do so by calling 101 or reporting it via the Norfolk Police website.
