Our priorities are set for a six month period and reviewed every three months to ensure we continue to deal with what matters most to local people, taking account of feedback shared in our local priorities survey and local crime data.

Road Safety & Road Traffic Offences

You Said, We Did - October 2024 - March 2025
•We have completed several speed gun patrols in the areas that were highlighted by the community as being areas of concern. We have issued warning letters where appropriate and fixed penalty notices to others for speeding offences
•16 vehicles have been seized due to motoring offences like no insurance or no MOT
•15 arrests have been made for offences such as drink and drug driving
•50 fixed penalty notices for offences such as speeding and poor driving standards have been issued
•Working alongside both the local council and school staff, we have carried out numerous parking patrols outside local schools, issuing tickets to offending vehicles

Drug Dealing & Drug Misuse
Action

•44 arrests have been made relating to drug offences with many coming from community intelligence
•Numerous drug warrants have been conducted following intelligence being received from the community. This includes the dismantling of cannabis factories located within the town
•Regular cuckooing checks continue to be carried out at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to exploitation by drug dealers

We continue to visit the area of every domestic burglary and have supported vulnerable victims, working with other agencies to give security advice and have also patrolled the areas around burglary locations to prevent further offences.
We have also completed regular community engagement events across the town and rural wards.
