Street level crime and ASB

We are continuing our efforts with additional patrols in the town centre, and proactive use of the PSPO to disperse problem individuals. We are working closely with NSDC to use all available powers, including seeking injunctions in relation to persistent offenders. Throughout the summer we are committing officers to supporting events in the town centre to provide visibility and reassure the public.

Night Time Economy Policing

The beat team have been actively patrolling the town centre during the evening on Friday and Saturdays, and actively engaging with door staff and licensees. Pub walk throughs have been conducted, and feedback from the public has been positive. This activity will continue as part of our commitment to Night Time Economy Policing.

Retail Crime

The team are continuing to target prolific offenders with the team having a 59% detection rate for shop theft, which is more than double the rate for all crime types. We have take part in the Shop Kind campaign week (see previous post), and are visible in the town centre through hot spot patrols.
