Current Priorities

Issue

Priority April – June 2025
Police, Partners, and residents have raised concerns around drug offences across the areas. Concerns raised have been around Cannabis grows and drugs dealing. NPT and partners plan to work together, evict those tenants that are causing issues and advise and take appropriate action when required.

Action

Police and partners are continuously working effectively together to help reduce drug offences. Broxtowe Borough Council, Housing and Adult Support Services are working with the Police to support those that are being exploited. Where robust police action is needed, this is being taken in the form of stop search, arrest and prosecution. In May NPT carried out a drug warrant where over 500 Cannabis plants were located at an address in Chilwell, this investigation is ongoing. There has also been three persons arrested for drugs offences, these are unrelated crimes. The drugs seized are Class A and B, these investigations are ongoing.

Issue

Priority April – June 2025
Police, Partners, and the business community have raised concerns around shop thefts offences across the NPA. Concerns raised have been around financial losses and ASB linked to the thefts. NPT and partners plan to work together, to arrest and convict these offenders. Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) will be used to stop repeat offenders.

Action

Operation Shrinkage is the force wide operation to tackle this issue. NPT is the police dedicated team to review data, crime patterns and deal with the offenders in a timely fashion. NPT works closely with the Prevention Hub to discuss strategies which are shared with key stakeholders at our monthly meetings. Police and Council are working together to tackle repeat offenders through arrests, prosecutions, and criminal behaviour orders. NPT are also out giving crime prevention advice and target hardening repeat victims. Police have used other tactics such as dispersal orders and Stop Searches where grounds exist, to tackle ASB and crime issues. This is working as there has been a reduction in offences.

Issue

Priority April – June 2025
Police, Partners, and residents have raised concerns around road related offences across Broxtowe Borough NPA. Concerns raised have been around speeding, noise and ASB. NPT and partners plan to work together. Police will take action by carrying out high visibility patrols to stop vehicles and speak with drivers. Police will take appropriate action and consider the use of Traffic Offence Reports (TOR), Section 59 Notice warning, seizure of vehicles, words advice and arrests where necessary.

Action

Op Wheelspin has been carried out with NPT, Road Crime Team and Operational Support teams. Staff have policed the areas using various police tactics including unmarked police vehicles so intelligence can be gathered and shared with officers on high visibility mobile patrols. Calls to the police control room have reduced in comparison to previous months. However, NPT has had a couple of emails from residents who have also phoned 101. These residents have been responded to reassure them.
