Issue
Increase in Theft from Shops in Thorne ( including QUORA Park retail park and the Town Centre
Raised by Council Ward members and an increase in the number of thefts by prolific offenders
This is affecting business in the town center and members of the public using the town center
Action
Goals - to encourage people to report incidents to the police and/or council and to identify those involved.
POP up police stations in the town center ,
Regular patrolling and engaging with staff in businesses.
Thorne Shopwatch launched- good news stories shared on social media. Increase the number of businesses in the scheme
update -
There has also been a 34 per cent reduction in the number of reports of shoplifting in Thorne since the NPT created the Shop Watch scheme.
With the help of Thorne Shop Watch, the team have also managed to secure 20 charges against a number of suspected shoplifters, with two prolific offenders given criminal behaviour orders (CBO) and a jail sentence
Issue
Anti social behavior involving motor bikes
Members of the public and local councillors
Raised again at the CEM on 17th July
Action
Goals- Patrol the identified areas , mobile patrol, foot patrol and with the use of force resources including drones and off road bike team.
Work with partners to identify those involved and addresses where bikes are being stored. Promote ; where's the bike campaign;
The PCSOS for Doncaster East are visiting all the primary schools to show the off road bike video and with a presentation about the illegal use of motorbikes, e-bikes and e-scooter
Work with Partners to look at enforcement, The off road bike team will be included in operations along side officers on foot and using drones
Road Policing Group ( traffic) will also be providing additional support.
Issue
Anti social behavior Broadway and surrounding streets
The issues have been identified from the rise in the number of reports of anti social behavior around Broadway and surrounding streets, including in the local parks, Quarry Park and Jubilee Park
This is affecting local residents, local businesses and people using the parks
Action
Goals- identify those involved and deter further incidents, through enforcement, identifying and supporting vulnerable victims and use of the ASB process.
Update /Action taken
A Number of people involved have been identified , some have been escalated further up the ASB process. On 30th June, 10 "Cease and Desist" letters were issued to young people identified as using motorbikes while being involved in anti social behavior. .
Issue
concerns raised by Councillor and local residents due the number of speeding vehicles
Action
Goals,- conduct speeding operations in these locals to establish the extent of the issue, including community speed watch operation with local residents
update- speeding in these locations raised at the Community Engagement Meeting on 17th July in Edenthorpe and Kirk Sandall
Brecks Lane has recently had traffic calming measures implemented.
Regular speed monitoring operations take place as well as community speed watch.
Issue
An increase in the number of incidents of Anti social behavior and damage in Stainforth
The main locations are Bootham crescent and Large Square
Action
Partnership working around the residents in one of the block of flats on Bootham Crescent. Identify those involved and provide the necessary support and enforcement
Large Square - identify those involved, support the victims. Look at options of enforcement and the use of ASB powers.
Some of the individuals have been identified and are being processed via the Council ASB process. Patrols and joint visits with police and partner agencies are ongoing
