Members from the community have raised concerns around drug misuse, street drinking and anti-social use of vehicles. These involve persons gathered on street corners drinking alcohol, the signs and smells of drug misuse and vehicles namely e-scooters and motorbikes being used anti-socially.

We are aware that these issues tend to increase over summer months and as a result we are going to increase our presence at key times, utilise powers of stop and search where appropriate and draw on the support of specialist Road Crime Team Officers. This will take place for the next three months and increased foot patrols are being conducted at key times within the town centre through the summer period.

Following up on local intelligence officers we have recently entered a property within the area and discovered cannabis being grown. 150 plants were removed and our investigations continue.
