Before the discovery of coal in the area in the 19th century, Chasetown and neighbouring Chase Terrace did not exist.

Today the area is home to thousands of people as well as small to medium sized businesses. Its location, close to the new M6 Toll, the A5 and the M6, makes it the perfect choice for people looking to live within easy striking distance of Birmingham and the West Midlands.

Local people are still proud of the area's mining heritage reflected through a strong historical society and the former Chasetown Mining College - now a community centre.

There are new leisure facilities including a swimming pool and plenty of parks and open spaces.
