Current Priorities
Issue
Burglary and vehicle crime is an ongoing priority. This has mainly taken place overnight with insecure vehicles and homes being targeted.
Action
We have worked alongside our forensics and criminal investigation department (CID) colleagues, which has resulted in a number of key arrests and charges being brought against several suspects. This type of offence has seen a decrease more recently, however local officers continue to be vigilant and investigate all reports of suspicious activity. This work remains ongoing.
Update 16th July - in the last 3 months we have seen a decrease in Burglaries in this area by 85%, 100% decrease in theft of motor vehicle and a 60% decrease in theft from motor vehicle. Officers will continue to monitor and tackle any reported incidents
Update 3rd September - reported burglaries and vehicle crime remain extremely low in the locality which positively reflects the action taken in recent months. Officers remain vigilant to any reported activity in the area and continue to follow up all reported suspicious activity.
