Formerly an industrial area for the pottery industry the area still has some light engineering firms, but is mainly residential.

Issue
Rough sleeping and anti-social behaviour (ASB).
Action
Rough sleeping is an increasing problem in Burslem Town centre and this has increased levels of ASB and some crime. Officers are carrying out early sweeps of the area to identify rough sleepers and to try and assist with their verification with the Rough Sleeper Team. Increased foot patrols are being conducted in this area.
