https://www.staffordshire.police.uk/article/3062/Hanford--TrenthamHanford & Trentham are both suburbs of Stoke-on-Trent and are serviced by the A500 and A34.
Both areas feature residential housing and a selection of shops. Hanford Park is in the heart of Hanford.
Trentham Gardens has become one of the region’s major leisure and tourist attraction after a costly regeneration project which includes landscaped gardens, a monkey sanctuary and a aerial adventure park.
Current Priorities
Issue
Traffic-related concerns, particularly speeding and unsafe parking around schools, have been raised by residents in Trentham.
Action
These issues remain a key focus for the neighbourhood policing team, and we are committed to responding to what the local community is telling us.
Our local PCSO, who is a visible and trusted figure in the area, has delivered targeted education sessions to both parents and pupils. These sessions highlight the risks and disruption caused by unsafe parking, especially during school drop-off and pick-up times. By working closely with schools and residents, we aim to promote long-term behavioural change and improve road safety for everyone.
We’ve also made effective use of the Staffordshire Smart Alert system to keep residents informed and engaged. This allows us to respond swiftly to any emerging concerns, ensuring the community remains up to date with our activity and feels heard.
On the issue of speeding, our road crime team has maintained a strong presence in hotspot locations —particularly along the A34 — where enforcement action is taken when necessary. Section 59 warnings have also been issued to those engaging in anti-social driving behaviour, helping to deter repeat offences and encourage responsible use of the roads.
This remains an ongoing priority, and we will continue to combine education, enforcement, and community engagement to address these concerns throughout the coming months.

Issue
Water safety in the brook
Action
In the hotter summer months, concerns have been raised around children playing in the brook and the safety of doing so. Our local PCSO is working with the local schools to educate children around the dangers of water, as well as providing high visibility patrols in that specific area.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour
Action
Neighbourhood watch zones have been rolled out across Trentham and we are actively looking to increase the cohort of residents involved.
