https://www.staffordshire.police.uk/article/2803/Stafford-TownLocated between junctions 13 and 14 of the M6 motorway, the thriving county town is home to a wide range of national high street retailers. Located in the centre is the High House, a historical building of much local interest.
Supporting the local communities, Stafford provides a wide range of facilities including Victoria Park, a bowling green, cinema, library and leisure centre, a number of churches and a mainline railway station.
Current Priorities
Issue
Concerns raised about the amount of shop lifting in the town centre.
Action
A dedicated town centre officer will be assigned to work Monday - Friday as a single point of contact for wider partners and businesses to link in with. This is in addition to the officers on each shift that will cover this area to target shoplifting. We also have various operations planned throughout the next three months to target this issue.
We are working to issue Community Protection Notices, dispersal notices and most recently Criminal Behaviour Orders to keep our prolific shop lifters out of the town.
Issue
Concerns raised for e-bikes and scooters riding through the town.
Action
We are conducting targeted patrols with support from our Road Crime Team to address this.
