St John's School is at the heart of the village which has also welcomed Walsall Football Club who have opened a training facility in the Broad Lane area.
Featherstone borders the city of Wolverhampton and is home to Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) Featherstone, a category C prison. It also has good road links to the west, with easy access to the M54 motorway. Local police also cover Hilton, Saredon, Shareshill, Newton, Springhill, Westcroft and Wedges Mills

Local officers are actively tackling vehicle crime, by working alongside key specialists in criminal investigations, forensics, roads policing and in coordination with neighbouring policing teams and police forces.
