Current Priorities

Issue

Police are aware of the continued concern from local residents, businesses and visitors in respect to the alcohol related Anti-Social Behaviour. This has a significant impact on the local community, visitors and businesses alike.

Action

Police are actively using the Powers provided under Section 48 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in issuing Community Protection Warning Letters and Community Protection Notices. Police are taking a zero tollerance approach to this in inforcing the Public Space Protection Order and dealing with any breaches of Community Protection Notices in the form of arrests. We are also working with our partners in respect to this matter to ensure a joint approach is taken.

As a result of this we have obtained 5 ASB injunctions, three of which are full orders which carry a power of arrest and 2 interim orders. Four criminal behaviour orders obtained and 24 Community Protection Notices.

We are also working with our partners to ensure appropriate support and signposting is available to ensure this problem is tackled from a joint approach.
