Current Priorities

Issue

Our current borough priorities are:
Tackling anti-social behaviour;
Prevent violence against women and girls;
Preventing burglaries;
Pursuing persistent offenders;
Protecting our business communities.

Issue

Shoplifting offences in Station Road.

Action

We have conducted additional patrols in the area to reassure residents. Wehave also invested a lot of time engaging with shop keepers asking them to report so that we can take action. We have issued numerous community protection warnings to stop our repeat offenders entering local shops and causing harm to the community.

Issue

ASB - over the last few years Addlestone Town has the highest levels of ASB and serious violence reported in the borough. We would add that whilst it is the highest in the borough Runnymede remains an extremely safe place to live, work and visit.

Action

Addlestone is funded by the Home Office for additional patrols under our Hotspot Policing iniative. This means more foot patrols by police and security companies to tackle ASB. We are now using a new app which will help us track what we are doing and where we can adapt our patrols to be more effective.
