Shoplifting in Chertsey Town.

We have increased our patrols in Chertsey Town and have encouraged shop keepers to report to us. As a result of this we have had a significant impact, making numerous arrests, and obtaining charges against persons for these offences. Our officers continue to patrol in uniform as well as in plain clothes on speciifc days of planned operations.

You have a dedicated PCSO for the area now and we are in the process of setting up a shopwatch scheme to improve communication and identify further offenders involved in offences.

Proctecting the vulnerable from rogue traders.

We have conducted a multi-agency proactive day in Chertsey. This involved in the stopping of approximately 30 vehicles. Vehicles stopped in this operation were subject to checks by police, vehicle standards agency, immigration and environmental health. Over the course of the day we made three arrests and seized five vehicles.
