Current Priorities

Issue

Motorcross and Quad Bikes - Being driven within public roads and nearby common land which has presented a safety risk towards the community. This has taken place across the whole ward.

Action

We continue to target persons driving motorcross and quad bikes, often dangerously, with partner agencies along with utilising our off-road police vehicle fleet. We will work with partner to target harden places such as the Common Land and will prosecute those identified.

Issue

Retail Shoplifting and Assaults towards Retail Workers - Offenders targeting retail shops within the ward for thefts.

Action

Our team are committed to tackling retail crime and making the six villages safer for everyone. Retail crime impacts many people in various ways which retail workers being subject to aggression or abuse from offenders.
We have regular visible patrols in the borough, we conduct police operations to target offenders using a variety of tactics including officers in plain clothes.
We are working with retail outlets that have been disproportionately targeted by offenders to prevent further offences.

Issue

Retail outlets selling vapes to children and selling counterfeit vapes.

Action

We continue to work with local schools, partner agencies including Trading Standards to target retail outlets who supply the community including children with dangerous and harmful vape products. We have conducted operations which has led to arrests of those involved.
