Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
Swiftly responding to incidents of ASB and effectively using policing powers available to intervene - including powers of dispersal where the actions of individuals or groups impact their wider surroundings; which can lead to wider harm, including the misuse of public spaces or buildings, criminal damage or vandalism, for example graffiti or damage to public buildings.
Working with partners and youth organisations, including schools and colleges to identify opportunities for early intervention with individuals at risk of causing ASB.
Addressing and taking action against ASB in the form of nuisance noise, such as noisy cars or motorbikes.
Action
Officers for Willngdon Trees continue to prioritise tackling ASB in your area.
During the summer months, officers for your area have been conducting a number of additional patrols, particularly in local parks, and open green spaces where residents have reported an increase in ASB and youth related crime and disorder.
These patrols have led to a number of positive engagements with youngsters in the area, as well as offering areas of reported ASB a heightened police presence during the summer months.
These patrols will continue, and we are pleased to welcome new PCSOs for the area, to help bolster the work being conducted, and to offer an even greater presence in your area.
Officers for your ward are holding a number of meetings over the coming months, details of which can be found in the 'events' tab on this page.
Planned weeks of action alongside national campaigns launching in the coming months, including a week of action around knife crime in November will see officers work alongside partners to not only raise awareness of such crimes, but also work together to conduct joint patrols in the area; as well as officers continuing to work alongside our Neighbourhood Youth Officers to get into schools to engage with youngsters at key stages of devolvement.
