Current Priorities

Issue

Public Place Violence

Action

We have increased high-visibility patrols, particularly during late evening, to deter violence and respond swiftly to any emerging issues. We are also maintaining a strong presence during the day to prevent disorder and reassure the public.
We continue to work closely with partner agencies and support services to assist victims of violent crime. Raising awareness of available support channels, advice, and reporting services remains a key part of our approach.

Issue

Robbery and Public Order

Action

We are conducting regular patrols throughout the day and evening to deter disorder and respond swiftly to any incidents. By maintaining a visible presence and working closely with the community, we aim to prevent robbery and public order offences and ensure that public spaces remain safe for everyone.

Issue

Business Crime / Shoplifting

Action

We are regularly engaging with local businesses to build strong relationships, gather intelligence, and offer tailored crime prevention advice. This proactive presence not only helps prevent crime but also enables us to respond quickly and effectively when offences occur, including making prompt arrests where necessary.
The introduction of the DISC system has further strengthened our partnership with the business community. This platform allows local shops and businesses to share real-time information about incidents and individuals of concern, enhancing communication and enabling a coordinated approach to identifying repeat offenders and preventing crime.
