Current Priorities

Issue

Public Place Violence

Action

We’ve increased high-visibility patrols, especially during the late evening, to deter violence and respond swiftly to emerging issues. A strong daytime presence also helps prevent disorder and reassure the public.

We continue to work with partner agencies and support services to assist victims of violent crime, while promoting awareness of available support and reporting options.

When public violence occurs, we act decisively—using powers such as dispersal orders and Criminal Behaviour Orders to disrupt offending and prevent further harm.

Our focus remains on prevention, early intervention, and firm enforcement to keep our communities safe.

Issue

Robbery and Public Order

Action

We continue to take firm action to maintain public safety, particularly in areas where people may be at greater risk. Officers are carrying out regular patrols throughout the day and evening, providing a visible presence to deter disorder and respond swiftly to incidents.

Recent patrols have led to arrests for offences including robbery and public order disturbances. We remain actively engaged with the community to identify concerns early and prevent further harm. Our commitment to keeping public spaces safe is supported by both enforcement and partnership working to ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Issue

Criminal damage

Action

We have taken direct action to reduce incidents of criminal damage through increased patrols in affected areas and targeted engagement with individuals known to be involved. Officers have responded swiftly to reports, resulting in arrests and enforcement measures where appropriate.

We continue to work closely with the community, encouraging the reporting of suspicious activity and sharing crime prevention advice to help protect property. Our efforts remain focused on prevention, early intervention, and holding offenders accountable to reduce harm and maintain public confidence.
