Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour / Vandalism
Action
We are intensifying our efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour through targeted, high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas. Officers are proactively identifying individuals responsible and addressing their behaviour through a range of proportionate and preventative measures.
These include delivering words of advice, building positive relationships with young people, engaging with parents and guardians, conducting community surveys to better understand local concerns, and issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) where appropriate. This multi-faceted approach is designed to mitigate harm, prevent escalation, and provide early intervention.
Issue
Wildlife Crime
Action
Patrols have been increased in key locations, and we are working closely with the Rural Crime Team to target areas where incidents have been reported. Using intelligence received from the public and partner agencies, we are focusing our efforts on locations where there is evidence of poaching, criminal damage, or threats to wildlife and natural habitats.
Issue
Speeding
Action
We continue to take firm and proactive steps to address concerns around speeding in the area. Targeted patrols and speed enforcement operations, working with Community Speed Watch, have been carried out in known hotspot locations, particularly those identified through community feedback and collision data. We have been using speed detection equipment to monitor driver behaviour, resulting in a number of warnings and enforcement actions, including fixed penalty notices and referrals for further investigation.
Our work is not limited to enforcement alone. We’ve also engaged with local residents and community groups to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and promote safer driving habits. Educational campaigns and visibility of patrols have helped reinforce the message that speeding will not be tolerated.
