Current Priorities
Issue
Speeding
Action
We continue to take firm and proactive steps to address concerns around speeding in the area. Targeted patrols and speed enforcement operations, working with Community Speed Watch, have been carried out in known hotspot locations, particularly those identified through community feedback and collision data. We have been using speed detection equipment to monitor driver behaviour, resulting in a number of warnings and enforcement actions, including fixed penalty notices and referrals for further investigation.
Our work is not limited to enforcement alone. We’ve also engaged with local residents and community groups to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and promote safer driving habits. Educational campaigns and visibility of patrols have helped reinforce the message that speeding will not be tolerated.
Issue
Off road motorbikes / Anti-social driving
Action
We are aware of ongoing concerns regarding the use of off-road motorbikes in the area, which are often linked to anti-social behaviour and community disruption.
In response, officers are continuing proactive patrols in key locations, focusing on identifying those responsible and taking appropriate action. This includes engaging with individuals, gathering intelligence, and using enforcement powers where necessary to prevent further nuisance and risk to public safety.
We are working closely with the local community, and the information provided by residents remains vital in helping us target our efforts effectively. By combining community intelligence with visible policing, we aim to reduce harm, improve safety, and restore confidence in affected areas.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour
Action
We are intensifying our efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour through targeted, high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas. Officers are proactively identifying individuals responsible and addressing their behaviour through a range of proportionate and preventative measures.
These include delivering words of advice, building positive relationships with young people, engaging with parents and guardians, conducting community surveys to better understand local concerns, and issuing Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) where appropriate. This multi-faceted approach is designed to mitigate harm, prevent escalation, and provide early
