Current Priorities
Issue
Burglary
Action
Helping to keep your property safe, from houses, to outbuildings, vehicles, garages and privately owned properties.
Acting swiftly when spates of burglaries are highlighted by communities, in responding to reports of burglary, conducting investigations, offering support and crime prevention tools to victims affected, and identifying those involved.
Issue
Rural Crime
Action
Supporting rural communities affected by rural crime, including but not limited to; residential burglary, machinery theft, animal or livestock worrying, illegal poaching and criminal damage.
Working with both partners and the Sussex Rural Crime Team to serve our rural communities, supporting initiatives such as country watch or rural watch to make rural communities feel safer by building long-lasting partnerships, responding to the community’s needs and providing an effective policing service.
Policing our more rural areas to prevent and disrupt rural crime, and to identify those who use our more isolated areas of the district to conduct criminal activities, from fly tipping, damage to property and livestock worrying, to agricultural and equine theft.
Issue
Operation Downsway
Action
Our yearly campaign to address community concerns around road and driving related offences that fall into the fatal 5 driving offences.
Including targeted patrols, education and enforcement activities across the district throughout the Summer months, focused on targeting excess speed, distracted driving, as well as drink/drug driving.
Continued work with partners, local authorities, including volunteer Community Speed Watch Groups across Seaford to support activities and keep the roads of your town safe for all road users.

Officers will be parked up along Landsdown Road Seaford, between 10:00-11:00 on 13th June, to speak to youngsters, riders, cyclists and vulnerable road users as part of a National campaign of safety awareness around all things ‘two-wheeled’.
Things such as, riding within the speed limit, making sure you give yourself and others enough space and time when overtaking, as well as how to position yourself in the safest place to maximise visibility and essential vehicle checks before setting off on a journey; all of which can help to make the roads safer for everyone.
The NPCC 2 Wheel Operation which launched in June, is aimed at both engagement and awareness raising with local drivers and cyclists, focusing on safe behaviours and raising awareness of potential dangers and hazards facing two wheel riders, find out more by searching NPCC 2 Wheel Operation online.
