Current Priorities

Issue

Anti-social behaviour (ASB)

The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to carryout regular patrols, focusing on areas where reports of ASB have been made.?

Action

We work closely with partner agencies to tackle this type of behaviour, identify those responsible, and manage persistent offenders and locations. We also continue to carry out intervention work with local schools and youth groups through our dedicated youth officers, to divert any young people who may be involved away from this pattern of behaviour.

Issue

Drug Related Harm

We continue to engage with the community, patrol, develop and act on intelligence and work in collaboration with drug service providers and outreach programmes to support local people.?

Action

Working in partnership with key stakeholders enables us to deter the harm being caused within our community, and patrols continue in areas where drug related activity is reported.?

Neighbourhood Youth Officers continue to work with local schools and colleges to raise awareness of drug harm and the risks involved.

Proactive operations involving specialist teams take place regularly to identify, arrest and disrupt persons involved in drugs possession and supply.?

Issue

Retail Crime

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to target persistent offenders and engage with partner agencies and local businesses in order to offer reassurance, support and crime prevention advice

Action

High visibility patrols will continue in locations of concern particularly at times of seasonal demand.

We have issued a number of Community Protection Warnings (CPWs), Community Protection Notices (CPNs) and Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) to individuals who continue to offend.?

Issue

Anti-social driving, in particular speeding vehicles

We are engaging with local communities and stakeholders to listen to their concerns surrounding anti-social road related issues.?

Action

We continue to support and promote force-wide campaigns, targeted operations with specialist units, and road-related activity including Operation Downsway deployments.?

We will also liaise with local community speed watch groups, assist in conducting speed checks, as well as encourage residents to utilise the Operation Crackdown service for reporting any road related concerns.
