Current Priorities

Issue

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), including illegal use of catapults

Action

The Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to carryout regular patrols, focusing on areas where reports of ASB have been made.
We work closely with partner agencies to tackle this type of behaviour, identify those responsible, and manage persistent offenders and locations. We also continue to carry out intervention work with local schools and youth groups through our dedicated youth officers, to divert any young people who may be involved away from this pattern of behaviour.
Community meetings, increased patrols, and work with the Rural Crime Team have taken place in order to tackle recent reports of catapults being used in criminal damage and harming wildlife. We have also seized a number of catapults and issued Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to individuals involved.

Issue

Illegal/antisocial use of electric scrambler bikes

Action

Patrols will continue to tackle illegal use of these bikes. Ongoing work to increase awareness around the illegal use of these bikes/e-scooters is taking place and intelligence gathering to identify and disrupt those individuals’ using bikes in the commission of crime continues.

Issue

Drug Related Harm

Action

We continue to engage with the community, patrol, develop and act on intelligence and work in collaboration with drug service providers and outreach programmes to support local people.
Working in partnership with key stakeholders enables us to deter the harm being caused within our community, and patrols continue in areas where drug related activity is reported.
Neighbourhood Youth Officers continue to work with local schools and colleges to raise awareness of drug harm and the risks involved.
Proactive operations involving specialist teams take place regularly to identify, arrest and disrupt persons involved in drugs possession and supply.
