Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour from youths in Oaken Grove Park, Maidenhead. This involves disruption of local businesses and clubs. The behaviour is focused nearby to the fountain area and Sir Nicholas Winton memorial gardens
Action
The Maidenhead West team continues to proactively address reports of anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths in Oaken Grove Park along with potential drug use. In response, officers have been conducting regular patrols and hosting “Have Your Say” engagement stands near the café to provide reassurance and gather community feedback. We have also been working with council run CCTV to try and identify suspected offenders.
We encourage residents to speak with our officers if they have any concerns or information. Reporting anti-social behaviour allows us to allocate resources effectively and focus patrols where they’re most needed.
Issue
Anti-social use of vehicles and drug use on Winter Hill, Cookham
Action
We continue to receive reports of concerning anti-social behaviour and improper use of vehicles in the Winter Hill area of Cookham. Incidents include dangerous driving behaviours such as racing and performing burnouts, drug use, and ASB affecting local properties.
Your Maidenhead West Neighbourhood Team are maintaining regular patrols and are in close contact with the National Trust as part of our joint approach to tackling anti-social behaviour in the area.
In response to the driving issues, we are continuing our joint efforts with the local council and National Trust in an attempt to introduce traffic calming measures in the area. If successful, these should deter improper use of vehicles.
Issue
Anti-Social Behaviour in Cookham: Specifically groups of youths causing disturbances around the shops at Station Parade, Cookham Rise, as well as in the neighbouring Alfred Major Recreation Ground. This is a continuing priority over the Summer holidays
Action
The Maidenhead West team continue to have an increased presence in the Cookham Rise and Alfred Major Recreation Ground area. We have held several Have your Say/Walk and Talk events in the area, keep an eye out for these being advertised on our social media pages.
We’re urging residents to boost reporting of anti-social behaviour and we are compiling the reports to make sure our patrols are in the right places at the right times.
We’re staying in close contact with local shops and businesses, building trust through a consistent, visible presence that helps deter offenders and strengthens community confidence.
