Current Priorities
Issue
In our recent neighbourhood priorities survey, the residents of Princes Risborough and surrounding areas voted anti-social behaviour as the top issue they want their neighbourhood team to focus on.
Action
Following ongoing anti-social behaviour issues over the last 6 months around Princes Risborough, the Neighbourhood Police Team have worked with the Council to have a CCTV camera installed on the entrance to Earl Mitchell Park.
These anti-social issues involve motorbikes and other off road vehicles being ridden around the area of Earl Mitchell Park. The camera, which will be monitored 24/7 by the Bucks County Council CCTV central team, will be used to support any reports and help identify any people riding illegal motorbikes or vehicles in the area.
Any vehicles that are seen to be riding in and around the area will be seized and dealt with accordingly.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Speeding was another priority voted for by local residents in our recent community survey, this is a concern across all parishes. A PCSO from the Princes Risborough neighbourhood team has taken personal responsibility for tackling speeding issues.
Action
In August, the team carried out speed surveys, they took place on Valley Road in Hughenden Valley and main road in Lacey Green, they found a number of drivers driving over the speed limit with the fastest being 37mph. As a result of this, the team are now in the process of planning some speeding enforcement operations where the main aim will be issuing tickets and pursuing repeat offenders through all options available. Another example of legislation police use to deal with those driving irresponsibly and dangerously is with a section 59. Recently, two vehicles driving at speed and in anti-social manner where issued with section 59 warnings, this was with the help of CCTV submitted by members of the public. These warnings are typically valid for 12 months and allow police to seize the vehicle if seen to be driving in an anti-social manner again during this period. The team will continue to make use of section 59s to deal with those driving in a way that causes alarm to their local community.
If you have any information please report via 101 or online at www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Residents of Princes Risborough and surrounding areas have voted burglary offences to be one of their top concerns for their local community. Currently, Princes Risborough has seen an increase in burglary offences compared to the same time last year.
Action
The team will patrol around areas with increased reports of burglary in order to detect and reduce burglary.
The neighbourhood team play a large role in burglary prevention through engaging with the community by passing on crime prevention advice and target hardening homes. In addition, they will carry out process called cocooning, where they will deliver crime prevention advice to neighbours and nearby residents of a property that has recently been burgled. In addition the team routinely arranges Have your say events. The team also routinely arranges Have your say events. These events involve PCSOs and sometimes PCs visiting various locations such as busy shops and high streets, and setting up a stand full of crime prevention leaflets. They encourage members of the public to stop and speak with them, answering any questions or addressing any concerns they have for their local community. These can be found advertised on the events tab of this page.
