Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour in the Town centre continues to be marked as a priority by the residents of High Wycombe. Anti-social behaviour can include drug offences and street drinking, shoplifting, aggressive begging and any other behaviour that negatively impacts the community.
Action
As an area where the team sees the most demand, there is a dedicated team of PCs and PCSOs within the Wycombe neighbourhood team that are assigned to police the town centre.
Frequent high visibility patrols continue to take place around the town centre to both detect and deter any criminality.
In the coming summer months, the force will be increasing focus on shoplifting with the aim to tackle and drastically improve the issue of this in the town centre. It will involve working with the local business community and retail security teams to ensure all shopliftings are being reported and shoplifters identified, as well as being robust in attending shopliftings and securing CCTV to progress cases and see more shoplifters charged. Shoplifting is not only a highly damaging offence in itself to the local businesses, town centres and busy shopping areas, but also increases overall criminality and can lead to other offending and anti-social behaviour, meaning it is crucial the force works on making sure the shoplifting rates are reduced.
Issue
As per our recent neighbourhood priorities survey, residents have highlighted drug offences as one of their top concerns. This continues to be a top priority for the Wycombe neighbourhood team.
Action
The Neighbourhood teams and Proactive teams will frequently deal with cases of drug offending through conducting warrants, carrying out stop searches, taking out closure orders on addresses and issuing community resolution notices where appropriate.
Targeted high visibility patrols will continue to take place in locations identified to have the most prominent issue of drug offences, for the Wycombe South team this will be in locations around the town centre and surrounding areas. The team will usually seek to stop and engage with Individuals known to be repeat drug offenders. In addition, intelligence will continue to be gathered to build a picture around drug offenders and identify drug suppliers.
The team also work with partners such as the council, One Recovery Bucks and local housing/shelter associations to safeguard vulnerable individuals as well as prevent further offending.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if a crime is in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Speeding continues to be highlighted as a top issue for local residents and was suggested to be a priority in our recent neighbourhood priorities survey so the neighbourhood team will continue to address speeding around High Wycombe
Action
Operation Glare is now in progress at High Wycombe. We will listen to concerns from residents about speeding and action this by sending our PCSO’s to analyse vehicles that are reported to speed at mentioned locations. If the data recorded shows that there are issues with spending they will subsequently get officers out to issue tickets.
In April the team focused on Chairborough Rd(29mph), Dashwood Ave (38mph), The Pastures (39mph), Coates Lane (41mph), Hithercorft Road (42mph) and Littleworth Road( 31mph)(Top speed recorded in brackets). The Cressex industrial Estate has also been visited.
After reviewing data, the team will be focusing on the same roads and some new ones, these will include: Totteridge road, Coates Lane, Lane End Road, The pastures, Hicks Farm rise.
To cure the problem of speeding we need members of the public to step up. Whether that is challenging friends or family if they are speeding or starting/joining a community speedwatch scheme. For more information please visit: https://www.communityspeedwatch.org
