Every neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.

Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.

Neighbourhood Policing teams…
  • Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
  • May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
  • Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
  • Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
  • Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
  • Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
Neighbourhood Policing…
  • Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
  • Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
  • Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.

Have Your Say logo From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.

We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.

Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.

Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.

Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities

Issue

ASB in the areas of Jansel Square, and Kingsbrook Basin involving rowdy youth behaviour as highlighted a concern in the last community survey.
11/6/24-10/6/25 - 172 recorded cases, up 23% on previous year: 98 community, 14 personal, 8 environmental

Action

The local neighbourhood team are dealing with reports of anti-social behaviour in Jansel square and Kingsbrook. We will measure improvements by comparing previous report numbers to those moving forward and share those results in future updates. UPDATE: May 16 reported cases, 9 community, 2 environmental. In May officers identified over 30 children who were causing ASB in the area. Of these 30, 12 children have been issued Community resolutions for offences and others spoken to. Continued action will be taken and updated next month. Update: July 25 – 36 recorded cases of ASB 25 community ,3 personal

Actions will include hi visibility patrols and partnership working with the local council. We will hold minimum monthly have your say events to allow the public to speak to us about issues and concerns.
The actions will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress is being made and change actions where needed. The priority will be reassessed quarterly as per community survey results.

Issue

Speeding on roads on the east, including Mike Griffin Way, Stocklake, Broughton Avenue and Tring Road was highlighted as a concern in the latest community survey.

Action

The local neighbourhood policing team are working to make the community safer by reducing speeding.
Improvements will be measured by comparing previous reports and survey results to those moving forward and results shared in future updates.
Actions will include speed surveys along with partnership working with the local council to secure funds for speed prevention activities. UPDATE: speeding survey completed by Bucks council awaiting results to be published next month. Local team to complete further enforcement by 30th Monthly.
Update: 11 vehicles stopped for driving in excess of the speed limit and dealt with accordingly.
The actions will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure improvements are seen, or actions changed. The priority will be reassessed quarterly as per the community survey results.

Issue

Drug related crime was highlighted in the latest community survey as an issue in Aylesbury East.
11/6/24-10/6/25 - 21 recorded offences

Action

The neighbourhood team are working to reduce incidents of drug related crime.
We will measure reports from this month to those moving forward to to assess if progress is being made and change actions where needed.
Actions to include hi visibility patrols, partnership working to gather intel on offenders and working with the local residents. UPDATE: 1 recorded offence of importation of drugs. Officers are working to obtain a closure order for drug use and exploitation of a vulnerable male by 30th Aug.
Update: July 5 recorded drugs possession..
The actions will be reassessed 30th monthly to ensure progress and the priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results.
