Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Speeding has been highlighted as a concern in the latest community survey.
Speeding is a constant issue in all our areas. The villages are relatively small and lots have school which raises additional concerns.

Action
The local neighbourhood policing team are working to reduce speeding and make the communities safer. We will measure improvement by comparing previous reports/surveys to those moving forward and all results will be shared in future updates.
Actions to include school assembly conducted in Pitstone to discuss road safety and launch a speed campaign poster competition which closes 31st May. Speed survey to be completed by 30th June and results shared in July update.
This actions will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure progress and revise actions where needed. The priority will be reviewed quarterly in line with community survey results.

Issue
Highlighted as a concern in the latest community survey Anti-Social behaviour from drug related crime was raised as a priority.
-Reports of drug use at the sports club in Wing.
-Reports of drug use on the sports field in Pitstone.

Action
The local neighbourhood policing team are working to reduce drug related ASB.
We will measure improvements by comparing numbers of previous reports to those reported moving forward and all results to be shared in future updates.
Actions to include hi visibility patrols with stop and search actions and working with the local community to gather intel to identify and deal with offenders. We are meeting with partner agencies by 31st May to discuss local issues. We are liaising with housing to have the offender removed and seeking to obtain a full closure order.
We will review these actions 30th monthly to ensure progress and adjust actions if needed. The priority will be reviewed quarterly as per community survey results.

Issue
Reports show a rise in Burglaries in our areas but they are sporadic across the villages rather than a specific targeted area. This was raised as a priority in the last community survey.
Action
The local neighbourhood policing team are working to reduce burglary incidents across our rural areas.
We will measure improvements by comparing number of previous reports to those numbers moving forward, all data will be shared in future updates.
Actions to include hi visibility patrols, engaging with residents through minimum monthly have your say events and providing crime prevention advice. Tool marking event to be held by 31st May.
This priority will be reviewed 30th monthly to ensure improvements or reassess actions if needed.
