Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour - Exeter Close Park
Action
The team has maintained a strong focus on addressing reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the Exeter Hall Park area. This location has now been officially designated as a specific police hotspot patrol area. Neighbourhood and response officers are actively targeting and tackling ASB and disorder in this zone to ensure a safer and more peaceful environment for all residents.
We remain committed to providing high-visibility patrols within these areas, aiming to deter negative behaviour and provide reassurance to the local community.
As community priorities are due for renewal, we encourage you to share your views on whether this issue should continue to be a priority for the team. Your input is invaluable in shaping our focus areas. Please complete the online survey available via Thames Valley Alert or on our social media platforms.
Issue
Drugs - Both dealing and misuse
Action
The team have continued to work hard in respect of this priority.
We are still actively investigating 2 cannabis factories on which we conducted drugs warrants for at the end of 2024. We are determined to bring offenders to justice and explore all investigative avenues.
The team have made several arrests in relation to possession with intent to supply drugs offences and the suspects for these remain under investigation at this time.
We have adopted an evidenced based approach to our proactive patrols and deploy both High Visibility and Covert patrols to both disrupt and detect drug crime activity in and around the Kidlington area.
We have welcomed PC Freya Browne and PCSO Jessica Platt on to the team who bring with them enthusiasm and drive to continue to focus on this priority for the community.
The Priorities are due for renewal and we have an online survey available on our social media Platforms or Via Thames Valley Alert. If you feel that this should remain a priority please take this opportunity to let us know your input is invaluable in shaping the teams focus.
Issue
Retail Crime
Action
The team has been working tirelessly to address retail crime in the community.
This has included notable arrests and investigations into store card point frauds, as well as targeting and apprehending prolific shoplifting offenders.
These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to making local businesses and shopping areas safer for everyone.
We are pleased to welcome two new team members, PC Freya Browne and PCSO Jessica Platt, who bring enthusiasm and dedication to supporting the community in tackling retail crime.
As community priorities are up for renewal, we encourage residents to share their thoughts on whether retail crime should remain a focus for the team. Please complete the online survey available on our social media platforms or via Thames Valley Alert to provide your input.
