Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-social behaviour - The community report that Anti-Social behaviour in Kidlington around the Grovelands and Exeter park area and Yarnton/Hayday Close remains a concern and would like us to continue to focus activity in this area.
Action
Previously the longstanding Priority related to Exeter Hall Park in Kidlington for A.S.B.
This location has become a Priority Hotspot for police patrols in relation to A.S.B.
However the Community still hold concerns regarding Anti-Social Behaviour around Kidlington and also in Yarnton particularly Hayday close.
We will continue to focus our patrols in these areas to tackle A.S.B. We encourage the Community to report all incidents of A.S.B so that the Neighbourhood team can make contact to discuss and assist us in planning our patrols effectively.
We will report back monthly on the teams activities.
Issue
Drugs - Both dealing and misuse - Drugs Misuse continues to be of concern to the Community and this has been reset as a priority over several months. Specific areas of concern include Kirtlington Quarry and Hayday Close in Yarnton.
Action
This has been a longstanding priority and the Community have directed that they wish for us to continue targeting Drugs Misuse and dealing.
We have been busy previously including Drugs Warrants and closing down Cannabis Factories in Kidlington.
It is clear that the Community feel that this issue is not limited to Kidlington and we have received concerns regarding Drugs in Yarnton and Kirtlington areas as well.
We will seek to deploy all policing tactics available to us in focusing on this priority and will report back monthly on what we have done.
Issue
Theft from Motor Vehicle - The Community have told us in the recent Have Your say and online Survey that Theft from motor vehicle is a concern and would like this as one of the priorities in Kidlington Oxford Road has been raised as a specific area of concern.
Action
This is a new Priority for the Kidlington area following our Online Survey and Have Your Say events.
We will seek to adopt a evidence based approach to target our patrols effectively.
We have lots of useful information on our Crime Prevention page around Keeping your vehicle safe which is worth reading.
The team will report back monthly around our activity along with posting on our social media page and via TValert
