Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Burglary has been highlighted as a top priority for the residents of Chesham according to our community survey
Action
When a series of burglaries have taken place in an area, police will be tasked to carry out increased patrols in the location in order to deter further burglaries, while investigative work is carried out to identify offenders and see them arrested for the offences.
The neighbourhood team continue to play a large part in helping local residents with crime prevention, giving them advice on making their homes secure and as unattractive to burglars as possible.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Residents of Chesham have voiced concerns about speeding around the area, due to the danger it presents to pedestrians and other road users.
Action
The neighbourhood team will seek to carry out periodic speed checks, in which they will be roadside with speed guns. This will not only work to deter speeding and carry out enforcement in terms of tickets for vehicles found to be exceeding the speed limit.
They will also seek to pursue regular offenders and be considering all disposal options available such as a section 59, where vehicles can be seized from individuals seen to be driving in an anti-social manner.
Although speeding is a concern, we are very aware that parking in restricted areas and driving without insurance / MOT is also a worry to residents. We have continued to stop vehicles that have been uninsured, issued fixed penalties and reported drivers for various offences
Recently officers have been conducting enforcement on St Marys Way, Lye Green Road and Chartridge Lane.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.
Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour has consistently been highlighted as an area of concern by the residents of Chesham. This includes drug usage, street drinking, loitering in public areas to be loud and disruptive to nearby residents and other behaviour that can cause distress to the members of the community.
Action
High visibility patrols continue to take place in the most targeted areas around Chesham, individuals suspected to be causing issues will be stopped and engaged with if seen with the aim to deter them. Chesham town centre is also included in Bucks council and TVP's safer street campaign, so intensive patrols and partnership working is currently be carried out to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminality in the town centre.
The team also seek to enforce the legislation available to them to assist in robustly policing Anti-Social behaviour, this includes civil orders and public space protection orders (PSPOs) put in place by the local council specifically to target and prohibit anti-social behaviour in a certain area. There are currently a number of PSPOs in place across Chesham. Currently, the team are dealing with increased reports of anti-social behaviour in Water Meadow Carpark whereby we are working with Buckinghamshire Council to address the issues raised,
The team are also aware of vehicles causing a nuisance where the driving and noise of the vehicle appears Anti Social. The team target individuals causing a nuisance and will utilise their ASB powers and powers under the Road Traffic Act.
The team have been conducting operations in Chesham High Street targeting E-Scooter and E-Bike usage. Enforcement has been conducted with seized and destruction.
Officers have been frequently patrolling Chesham hotspots in order to deter ASB. Patrolling areas on foot, we hope that residents and visitors to the town have seen an increase of "Beat Foot Patrols" within the town
