Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Retail Crime in Slough Town Centre.
Action
Op Purchase team have identified the worst hit premises and look to not only prosecute those involved in retail crime but to put measures in place to make it harder for those intent on committing theft.
The Op Purchase team have been working with partner agencies to divert and rehabilitate repeat offenders.
Issue
Alcohol related ASB- Slough town centre and Chalvey
Action
The Town Centre Team have been focusing patrols in and around Mackenzie Square, confiscating alcohol from individuals known to take part in alcohol related ASB. We have been working in partnership with Slough Borough Council to identify a long term solution. We have issued a number of community protection warnings of which a number of individuals have now been arrested. The benches in MacKenzie Square have been removed in an attempt to discourage the gathering of people known to cause ASB. Also alleyways have been secured to prevent access to those persons. We will continue this trend in an attempt to drive down the ASB in that specific area.
Issue
Rough Sleeping in communal areas of residential buildings and around the town centre.
Action
The NHPT South Team are conducting an “early morning sweep” to identify those who are sleeping rough, often within residential blocks of flats. Community protection warnings / notices are being issued and arrests will be made if these are breached. There has been huge support from the public who report these incidents. It’s important these reports continue to direct the team to the areas affected.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Police team recently teamed up with Slough Borough Council housing department, Browns and turning point. Together they engaged with members of the public and conducted joint patrols in ASB hotspot areas linked to rough sleeping.
Issue
Tackling Drug-Related Harm in Slough Town Centre
Action
We are committed to keeping Slough town centre a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Over recent weeks, we have received concerns from residents and local businesses about drug dealing, drug use, and anti-social behaviour in the area. In response, our policing team is prioritising targeted action to address these issues.
Here’s what we’re doing:
Increasing Patrols: You’ll notice more officers in and around the town centre, focusing on known hotspots to disrupt drug activity and provide reassurance.
Listening to the Community: Your insights matter. We’re working closely with residents, shop owners, and local organisations to gather information and build safer streets together.
Targeting Offenders: Using intelligence from the public and partners, we’re identifying and taking action against individuals involved in drug supply.
Helping Where We Can: We’re teaming up with support services to offer help to those struggling with substance misuse and aim to prevent repeat offences.
Tracking Progress: We will keep you updated as we assess the impact of these efforts and adjust our approach based on what works.
We’re asking for your support: please report concerns, no matter how small they may seem. Together, we can make Slough a town everyone feels proud to call home.
For non-emergencies, contact us via 101 or thamesvalley.police.uk. In an emergency, always dial 999.
Issue
Thefts from motor vehicles in Chalvey, Upton Lea and Town centre.
Action
In response to a recent increase in thefts from motor vehicles, the local neighbourhood policing team is taking proactive steps to address the issue and reassure the community. Officers will be increasing their visible presence in affected areas, engaging with residents to raise awareness, and working closely with partners to promote preventative measures. The team remains committed to listening to concerns, gathering intelligence, and taking appropriate action to deter criminal activity. We encourage the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious behaviour, and ensure vehicles are secured at all times.
