Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
Unauthorised use of e-scooters is becoming a widespread issue in Langley. Since e-scooters cannot be insured, they are not permitted for use on public roads. Additionally, reckless riding of mopeds, motorbikes, and quad bikes is causing safety concerns, as offenders are often seen speeding through parks, pavements, and roads without helmets, sometimes wearing balaclavas. Addressing these risks is crucial to ensure public safety and prevent potential accidents.
Action
The Neighbourhood Team in Langley have completed joint operations this month with our Roads Policing Team to target and catch these offenders. On one of these operations, a male was caught on a high powered off-road bike in possession of cocaine and we are seeking to charge him with all of the offences committed. Multiple e-scooters and off-road bikes have been seized from owners and sent for destruction, with the riders being issued points on their licence for driving dangerously and without insurance. We continue to work together with our Police drone pilots to capture these offenders from the ground and the air. We are engaging with local schools, colleges and employers to continue to raise awareness around illegally owned e-scooters and the dangers they pose.
Issue
Youths are congregating around the shops on Harrow Market and acting in an anti-social manner by smoking cannabis at lunch time, throwing litter and blocking entrances to shops.
Action
We have assigned a dedicated PCSO to manage this problem who is working closely with Langley College to ensure students are behaving respectfully throughout their break times. We expect this problem to reduce in the Summer over the school break, but will continue to monitor the problem and work closely with local businesses to support them. The Neighbourhood Team are planning a number of dedicated action days over the summer where we will utilise officers in both uniform and plain clothes to catch offenders and deal with them for offences they are committing. Our Neighbourhood Team continue to patrol the area frequently and are engaging with local business to identify repeat offenders. Any individuals smoking cannabis will be searched and dealt with formally and we work closely with our Youth Justice Team to refer any youths found with cannabis to drugs diversion courses
Issue
We are receiving complaints of blatant drug dealing on and around Cheviot Road
Action
A survey has been completed with residents about drug activity in and around Cheviot Road to identify specific problems and offenders to tackle. The Neighbourhood Team will continue to speak to residents and encourage them to report any issues in the area. Problems can be reported directly to the police via 101 or our website as well as anonymously via Crime Stoppers. PCs and PCSOs continue to patrol Cheviot Road as part of their patrol plan and will continue this in both uniform and plain clothes over the coming weeks.
