Operated by: Thames Valley Police
https://www.thamesvalley.police.ukEvery neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Current Priorities
Issue
According to our recent neighbourhood priorities survey, the residents of Beaconsfield voted burglary to be the their top concern and most important priority for their local neighbourhood team to focus on. Recently, Beaconsfield has seen an increase in burglary offences.
Action
The team will continue with burglary prevention efforts. This includes high visibility patrols in areas with increased reports of burglaries.
A large part of burglary prevention is also community engagement, the team conduct regular have your say events in locations around Beaconsfield, these events give local residents the chance to speak to a member of their local neighbourhood team to raise any concerns for their community and receive crime prevention advice. Another way the team distribute burglary prevention advice is through a process called cocooning, in which they will deliver informational leaflets to households in close to proximity to a home that has just been burgled.
Burglaries are not just residential but can often impact local businesses. This month, a 52 year old male was jailed for 12 months for breaking into a Morrisons store in Beaconsfield while it was closed and attempting to steal cigarettes.

Call 999 if crime in progress or you are at risk of harm.
Issue
Anti-social behaviour was the 2nd highest voted priority according to our survey. The team have been dealing with incidents of ASB issues such as drug use, noise complaints and youths trespassing on sites.
Action
The Beaconsfield neighbourhood team utilise their patrols to target areas that have increased and/or consistent issues of anti-social behaviour, these patrols help to both detect and deter the behaviour.
In some cases anti-social behaviour falls below the criminal threshold, so the team adapt different approaches to address issues. Over the summer, there has been reports of teens congregating in dangerous areas such as abandoned buildings or swimming in open waters such as the Jubliee river. The team will seek to stop and engage with young people, educating around risks and giving words of advice. If an individual carries out persistent anti-social behaviour after being spoken to, there is various ASB legislation the team utilise to deal with individuals impacting the community negatively such as community protection warnings.
Due to a campaign ran by TVP to encourage ASB reporting, the entire of Bucks has seen a large increase in ASB reports. Beaconsfield has reportedly seen a significant increase in reported ASB than the same time last year, these reports assist the team in targeting the issues.
If you have any information please report on 101 or online at www. thamesvalley.police.uk.

Issue
Drug offences is the 3rd priority voted for by the residents of Beaconsfield in our recent survey
Action
The team will patrols areas with increased reports of drug offences and stop and engage with individuals suspected or known to be causing the issues. Officers will seek to use policing powers such as stop searches where possible and will also utilise other options available such as community protection warnings on individuals to prevent further offending. They will also seek to gather intel to build a picture around drug dealing and drug usage in the area.
