Issue
To work with Road Safety partners within West Midlands Police and outside agencies to promote safer roads in Kingstanding, especially around schools.
Action
The team has conducted a Speedwatch operation on Perry Common Rd, in response to residents concerns regarding street racing and road safety. Enforceable actions have been taken against parking violations and other traffic related offences, reflecting our commitment to addressing the issues that matter most to the local community.
Issue
Ensure residents of Kingstanding feel safe and reassured in their lives by providing regular contact with their Neighbourhood Team and having officers be as visible as possible where needed.
Action
There has been an increase in high-visibility patrols by officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), both on foot and by bicycle, across the area. The team has coordinated a series of community engagement initiatives, including the deployment of the Mobile Police Station, an Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) survey, 'Cuppa with a Copper' sessions, Speedwatch activities, a community walkabout with local partners. The team has also joined our partners from the Fire Service at a large scale Open Day event which welcomed hundreds of families and fostered positive engagement with local emergency services.
Issue
Combat Anti-social behaviour within Wyrley Birch through working with partner agencies including Birmingham City Council to address repeat ASB issues and utilise enforcement action on prolific offenders where appropriate
Action
The team has been working with the local EcoHub to set up regular drop in meeting for residents to attend and speak to officers and PCSOs about their concerns (Cuppa with a Copper). We have increased patrols in the Wyrley Birch area and surrounding neighbourhoods to proactively address persistent incidents of antisocial behaviour, particularly during key periods in the afternoon and evenings. These enhanced patrols focus on improving police visibility, responding to concerns raised by local residents and engaging with young people in the community to provide both reassurance and a visible deterrent.
