Issue
Residential burglary
Action
Residential burglary remains a top priority for our force, especially in Birmingham. Despite a significant 26% reduction in residential burglaries across the West Midlands, we understand the profound impact this crime has on individuals and communities.
To address this, we are working closely with our response and neighbourhood crime departments to ensure that every reported burglary is attended to promptly. We are committed to exploiting every opportunity to identify and prosecute offenders, ensuring justice for victims and enhancing community safety.
We have dealt with a number of car key burglaries recently and are encouraging residents to stay vigilant in preventing crime.
Issue
Antisocial behaviour and shoplifting
Action
There has been a lot of work with local businesses in order to identify prolific offenders and bring them to justice. Additionally we have responded to complaints around parts of Slade Road and dealt with a number of street drinkers. This work is ongoing but remains a priority.
Issue
Theft from persons and Robbery
Action
Theft from person and robbery are serious concerns for our communities. Last year, we experienced a spike in robberies, and as a team, we are determined to prevent a similar occurrence this year. Encouragingly, we have already seen a 16% reduction in robberies compared to this time last year, and we are committed to driving that number down even further.
We will be utilising a range of tactics to prevent these crimes from happening and to manage and apprehend those offenders who commit these offences. Our dedication to bringing robbery suspects to justice remains unwavering, and we are focused on ensuring the safety and security of our community members.
