Issue
Anti-social behaviour including begging and reports of Serious Youth Violence on Northfield High Street.
Action
Officers will be conducting regular patrols and working with partners as part of Operation Wayfarer. Officers are also working with the housing outreach team to re-house rough sleepers. Numerous rough sleepers have already been re-housed and offered support since the start of the year. Repeat shop lifters have been arrested and banned from the area with the assistance of the probation and prison service. Monthly partnership meetings are taking place to drive down crime and find out the issues that really matter to the community.
Issue
We are concerned around instances of robbery across the area.
Action
Officers are conducting regular patrols, and are offering crime prevention advice to people to reduce the chance of opportunist robbery and theft. We have also been working with partners and conducting offender management visits in the effort to reduce this crime type.
Issue
We are concerned at the level of opportunist vehicle theft across Weoley Castle.
Action
We have been working with the local community to remind people to remove valuables from their vehicle, lock their cars and use garage or park in a safe place if possible. We are also conducting offender management visits to known offenders.
