High Visibility Patrols. Targeting hot spot areas with Proactive Operations.

August UPDATE: Officers have conducted numerous patrols across the area, issues parking tickets and seizing vehicles were necessary. Arranging joint patrols with Parking enforcement and WMP Traffic Unit.

Tackling Robberies and Serious Youth Violence

Action

High visibility patrols – requesting other departments and local partners to assist and work with us.

Gathering information and intelligence, working with community, intelligence departments and Offender Managers. Community engagement in schools and working with school intervention officers.

August UPDATE: Officers from the team delivered knife crime talks to young people in school and youth facilities.

Extra patrols and weapon searches have been conducted in open space areas.

Force wide resources have been supporting the neighbourhood to increase visibility.

Issue

Recruiting Street Watch members to support our work to reduce anti-social behaviour. The scheme allows the community to get involved and help, and understand how the police are solving the ASB issues that are concerning them.

Action

We are working with with local council leaders and organising street watch groups so the community can have an input on how their areas are policed.

Street watch members will be joining us on regular walks can be throughout the local area.

JULY UPDATE: Officers are delivering a monthly pop up police surgery at One Stop Shopping centre, offering crime prevention advice, recruiting people for Street Watch. Officers have been conducting talks in school regarding anti social behaviour.

AUGUST - Officers have attended several community days and events over the six weeks holidays. Offering advice on crime prevention, advertising WMNOW and Streetwatch. Messages have been sent out on Twitter and WMNOW, asking residents to make contact with team regarding Streetwatch.
