ASB and reports of drug use at Silkworks

Action

Patrols will continue at location, working with partners and residents to look at preventing issues , longer term. Several arrests have been made over recent months, team to visit at key times.

10/03 Officers ran a drop-in session with residents of the silk works this week. This was a chance for residents to get to know their local officers and raise any concerns they had. It was a well-attended event and lots of issues and ideas shared between residents and the police. We will hold more sessions in the up and coming months. These will be highlighted on the events tab

Worked in partnership with Principal Estates to identify the homeless people who are squatting there and their ASB

drop in sessions ran for local residents to raise concerns . Was well attended and lots of joint problem solving shared between police and residents.

Issue

Retail theft at Gallagher Retail park.
Team will be conducting regular patrols around all shops in provide increased security for businesses and customers, ensuring a safe shopping experience for all.
To identify and apprehend individuals or groups responsible for thefts in the area.
Retailers and shoppers are encouraged to report suspicious behaviour and assist in the effort to maintain a secure environment .

Action

Mixture of plain clothes and high visibility foot patrols have been conducted so far, and will continue to do so. Several arrests at key locations, such as Poundland and Pets at Home. Working towards Criminal Behaviour Orders and Banning notices to those repeat offenders .
Actions update
Foleshill NPT have arrested 3 persistent shoplifting offenders at the Gallagher Retail Park in the last month and received a positive feedback from stores that this along with regular patrols has significantly reducing the thefts with this retail park
In the last week local officers have conducted further patrols at the Gallagher, and have arrested several people for theft .
Update: 09/05/25: officers continue to patrol location on a regular basis, mixture of plain clothes and high visibility, several arrests have been made over last month. On 30th April Op Regroup conducted high intensity policing operation across the North East sector , patrols included the Gallagher retail park.
Several Community protection notices have been issued to individuals causing Anti social behaviour and nuisances in and around Mcdonalds and outside ALDI.

Issue

ASB and offences occurring in Edgwick Park, continuing as priority for the ward.
These patrols will continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all park users.
The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Action

Recent policing action in Edgwick park has seen a combination of plain clothes and high visibility patrols aimed at enhancing public safety and deterring criminal activity. These efforts include conducting thorough weapon sweeps using metal detectors to identify and remove any hidden or discarded weapons.
On 30th April, Operation Regroup took place, marking a period of intensified police presence. A significant number of officers patrolled the park areas, ensuring a robust and visible deterrence .
