Policing Priority - Tackling youth related violence in the Paddock and Delves area
Action
Reducing youth related knife crime remains a priority across Delves Ward and the wider force area.
We continue to carry out targeted patrols in some of our vulnerable locations such as local schools and parks. We will continue to use our stop & search powers in an effort to remove weapons from our streets and keep our communities safe.
We recently (Feb) carried out a knife sweep in the Palfrey park area which we are pleased to report no knives or weapons were found.
We are now planning to visit more of our local schools to educated young people on the dangers of knife crime and how young people can stay safe.
Update
The team continue to engage with young people in the location, regular patrols are conducted in Palfrey park and positive engagement with local residents.
Officers from the Delves NHT continue to patrol Palfrey park and surrounding locations, engaging with local residents and Park users. Also working alongside our partners in the area.
Officers from the Delves neighbourhood team on the 22-05-2025 carried out a knife sweep of Palfrey Park and Arena Park, no knives were found.
Knife sweeps will continue to take place on a regular basis.
Officers from the Delves police neighbourhood team have continued to make regular visits/patrols of Palfrey park to offer that visibility and re-assurance, engaging with park users.
