Issue
Newsome Ward Area
- To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area in particular around the Newsome Academy. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.
- To reduce the impact of nuisance off-road bikes and anti-social driving in the community through intelligence-led policing and partnership working.
- To disrupt and reduce the supply and use of illegal drugs within the ward, with a particular focus on Class A and Class B substances. We will increase high-visibility patrols in known drug hotspots, execute intelligence-led warrants targeting suspected drug dealers and gather and act on intelligence relating to drug supply networks and associated criminality.
Action
- Newsome Academy – Officers continue to conduct targeted patrols and monitor hotspot areas. NPT Officers deliver school-based workshops on ASB and community impact and work with partner agencies to support at-risk youth.
- Anti-social vehicle use – Officers are actively gathering intelligence from community reports, CCTV, and patrols. 1 vehicle has been seized for no insurance. NPT Officers continue to work with out Anti-Social Vehicle Unit to target known riders and bike locations. Operations are planned for the future.
- Drug use and supply - Recent Enforcement Activity: 6 warrants executed, 5 suspects arrested and numerous Class A & Class B Drugs seized (Investigations ongoing).
Issue
Ashbrow Ward Area
- To engage and forge relationships with local youths and the wider community to increase community confidence and intelligence. This will be done using a partnership approach with community engagement being at the centre of this.
- To reduce the impact of nuisance off-road bikes and anti-social driving in the community through intelligence-led policing and partnership working.
- To disrupt and reduce the supply and use of illegal drugs within the ward, with a particular focus on Class A and Class B substances. We will increase high-visibility patrols in known drug hotspots, execute intelligence-led warrants targeting suspected drug dealers and gather and act on intelligence relating to drug supply networks and associated criminality.
Action
- Deighton Sports Centre - Officers continue to conduct targeted patrols and monitor hotspot areas. Our regular Clear Hold Build days of action with partner agencies, including Kirklees Council, focus on key areas to improve to prevent anti-social behaviour such as green space cleaning and visiting residents to hear their voice.
- Anti-social vehicle use - Officers are actively gathering intelligence from community reports, CCTV, and patrols. 1 vehicle has been seized for no insurance. NPT Officers continue to work with out Anti-Social Vehicle Unit to target known riders and bike locations. Operations are planned for the future.
- Drug use and supply - Recent results: Numerous Warrants Executed, thousands of pounds worth of drugs Seized, several arrests made & ongoing investigations into organised drug networks.
Issue
Greenhead Ward Area
- Parking issues in Greenhead ward - We are aware of ongoing parking concerns in the Greenhead Ward, particularly those caused by students parking near the college and staff from town centre businesses using the areas of Gledholt Road and Quarry road to park.
- Gang related ASB and drugs Hillhouse area - To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB with a view to disrupting those involved. We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to disrupt USG’s and reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.
Action
- Parking issues Greenhead Ward – To address these issues, the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are: conducting targeted patrols during peak hours to monitor and manage parking behaviour, working in partnership with local authorities and educational institutions to explore long-term solutions, engaging with businesses and residents to gather feedback and raise awareness of responsible parking & Issuing penalty notices where vehicles are found to be causing obstructions or violating parking regulations.
- Gang related ASB & Drugs Hillhouse – We continue to take robust action in response to gang-related anti-social behaviour and drug activity, particularly involving feuding groups within the ward. Key actions taken include:
- Targeted patrols in hotspot areas to deter gang gatherings and visible drug activity
- Joint operations with specialist units to disrupt criminal networks and gather intelligence
- Stop and search activity where appropriate, based on intelligence-led policing
- Community engagement to reassure residents and encourage the reporting of suspicious behaviour
- Partnership work with youth services, housing, and local organisations to provide diversionary support and early intervention for at-risk individuals.
Issue
Huddersfield Town Centre Ward Area
- Day and night time anti-social behaviour including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all. We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing anti-social behaviour issues.
- Increase in patrols especially on the night time economy to prevent and reduce violent crime and make people safe and feel safe.
- Following an increase in incidents of anti-social behaviour in the Bus Station, targeted plans have been put in place to monitor, manage and reduce such incidents, whilst identifying and dealing with those involved.
Action
The Town Centre Team continue to work to improve the Experience of visiting and working within Huddersfield. This is done in conjunction with our partners at the Huddersfield Business improvement District and Kirklees Council.
As part of ongoing efforts to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the Town Centre Ward, a recent multi-agency police operation was carried out targeting known hotspots for drug-related activity and associated criminal behaviour.
Operation Summary: The operation involved uniformed and plain-clothed officers conducting targeted patrols, surveillance, and enforcement actions over a three-day period. Key outcomes included:
- Multiple arrests for possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
- Seizure of illegal substances, cash, and mobile phones suspected to be linked to criminal activity.
- Execution of warrants at several addresses within the ward, resulting in the recovery of further evidence.
- Stop and search activity, which led to the identification of individuals involved in ongoing criminal networks.
- Increased visibility of officers in the town centre, reassuring the public and deterring further offending.
Additional Enforcement Activity: We have also had a number of days of action recently. Notably, we worked in partnership with Immigration Enforcement last night to combat illegal working practices, specifically targeting individuals delivering food for well known services. This joint effort is part of a wider strategy to address exploitation and ensure compliance with employment and immigration laws.
Issue
Crosland Moor and Netherton Ward Areas
- Anti-social behaviour drugs - To target those involved in drug and gang related anti-social behaviour. Hotspots will be around Lockwood, Thornton Lodge and Crosland Moor.
- Anti-social behaviour nuisance vehicles - this covers parking, driving and speeding within the ward area, covering identified hotspots in Thornton Lodge and Blackmoorfoot Road,Crosland Moor.
- A new focus on anti-social behaviour vehicles in the Netherton and South Crosland area of the ward. Issues around road safety and parking around schools, recreational grounds, and speeding on residential streets.
Action
- Drugs hotspots - A section 23 Misuse of drugs warrant executed in Crosland Moor resulting in significant find of Class A and B drugs, several weapons, and remand of the occupier. This success was down to the continued receipt of community intelligence and development within the Neighbourhood Police Teams (NPT). - Anti-social behaviour nuisance vehicle - NPT continue to follow up on reports of pavement obstructions, and issue tickets where necessary. St Thomas’ Road, Thornton Lodge Road, Blackmoorfoot Road, and Manchester Road/Longroyd Bridge. Police and Kirklees Council Traffic Enforcement frequently share awareness of hotspots, to deal with these matters in a joined-up approach. West Yorkshire Police have received reassurance from the Local Authority regards using their own powers to drive this forward even if Police aren’t in attendance.
- Anti-social behaviour nuisance vehicles Netherton & South Crosland - several pro-laser speeding operations have taken place around several roads in the Netherton area, and the West Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership has increased its attendance on Meltham Road, focussing on the change of speed from 50mph and those that carry this speed into the 30mph section. Kirklees Council Traffic Enforcement have visited Netherton Infant and Nursery School, and South Crosland C of E Junior School throughout May.

Lindley Ward Area
- Summer burglary plan – As part of our Burglary Plan we will be disrupting known offenders and conducting enhanced patrols at peak times supported by our proactive Force Units. We will also be focusing on vehicle crime due to a rise in reports in the area.
- To improve road safety around anti-social behaviour vehicles – To work with schools to reduce inconsiderate parking and anti-social use of vehicles, our aim is to encourage the safer use of roads through education and prosecution.
Action
Burglary plan – Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers have been actively conducting proactive patrols across the ward at various times of day and night. These efforts have been supported by other available force units to ensure a visible and responsive police presence. Numerous contact points have been held over the summer months to engage with members of the community and offer crime prevention/safety advice.
Road Safety around schools - Several visits have been made to local primary schools prior to them breaking up for the summer holidays, whereby officers have attended either at drop off or pick up times to ensure drivers are being considerate with their parking and children can enter school safely. Tickets have been issued to vehicles that have caused an obstruction due to the manner of their parking. ASB vehicles – a joint traffic operation with partner agencies was held in Lindley where several Traffic Offence Reports were issued and a number of vehicles seized. More operations are planned for the coming months, to ensure vehicles adhere to road safety standards. Officers conducting proactive patrols in the area has also resulted in several stop checks, some tickets being issued and abandoned vehicles being seized.
Issue
Almondbury Ward Area
- Anti-social behaviour drugs - to target those involved in drug and gang related anti-social behaviour . Hotspots will be around Fernside Court, Fernside Avenue, Farfield Road and surrounding areas.
- Anti-social behaviour nuisance vehicles – to target those involved in dangerous driving and off road nuisance bikes which are used in drug and anti-social behaviour.
- Anti-social behaviour and Theft from businesses within Almondbury village, work together using anti-social behaviour legislation to disrupt this behaviour and suspect identification to deliver positive outcomes.
Action
- A Section 23 Misuse of Drugs warrant was executed on Fernside, Almondbury resulting in the location of Class A drugs and evidence of a drug hotspot location. This was achieved through working on community intelligence and development within the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT). Working with local partners for closure orders to reduce drug activity within the local community. A further Section 23 Misuse of Drugs warrant was executed within Almondbury resulting in location of significant Class B drugs and evidence of a further drug hotspot location. Again, this was This was achieved through working on community intelligence and development within the local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT).
- Day of action held working with off road bike team to continue to disrupt those using bikes for anti-social and drug related activity. Continuing to use information provided from the local community to disrupt those involved and ensure safer roads within the area.
- Positive action taken in relation to theft and anti-social behaviour occurring at local stores within Almondbury. Continuing to hold contact points to engage with local community and provide reassurance to those within the area. Positive outcomes taken through arrest and necessary action where appropriate to prevent continuing behaviour.
Issue
Dalton Ward Area
- We are continuing efforts to tackle the illegal and dangerous use of off-road bikes across the ward - particularly around Longfield Avenue, Ridgeways, Harpe Inge and Long Lane, which has been a persistent concern for residents. We are committed to reducing the nuisance, noise, and danger caused by off-road bikes and will continue to take firm action against those who use them illegally.
- Disrupt and deter drug-related activity through targeted patrols and proactive enforcement. We will act on community intelligence to identify individuals and locations linked to drug supply, Work in partnership with local agencies, housing providers, and support services to address the wider impact of drug misuse and Engage with residents to build trust and encourage the reporting of suspicious behaviour.
Action
- Nuisance bikes – We have several traffic operations planned to tackle the issues reported to us by residents and will be working with our specialist off-road bike team to pursue and seize illegal vehicles. We are using intelligence from the community to identify offenders and storage locations, seizing bikes under section 59 of the Police Reform Act where appropriate and engaging with local residents to encourage reporting. We are also developing intelligence and targeting drug dealers who are potentially using off-road bikes to transport drugs around the ward.
- Drug related activity – Over recent weeks, officers have carried out a series of days of action targeting known hotspot areas. These operations have included:
- Stop and search activity, resulting in several individuals being dealt with for drug offences.
- The seizure of illegal substances, including suspected Class A and Class B drugs.
- Engagement with residents and businesses to gather intelligence and reassure the community.
