Hare Coursing and Rural Related Crime

Action

Increase identified in reports of hare coursing in the rural areas around Marlborough. This time of year, after crops have been harvested, we often see an increase in reports of hare coursing and the associated damage to land. The concerns with crimes of this nature are that on occasions hare coursing activities are linked with rural burglaries and theft of plant and farm machinery.

Locally we are increasing patrols in our rural areas along with working alongside our dedicated Rural Crime Team.

Positive action to disrupt hare coursing in our rural areas and continue to build a visible presence in our communities.
