Current Priorities
Issue
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
Action
The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is working closely with partner agencies and specialist departments within Wiltshire Police to address ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour in the area.
Regular high-visibility and mobile patrols are being conducted in identified hotspot locations, with a focus on prevention, enforcement, and community reassurance.
We are actively engaging with local residents to better understand their concerns, ensuring that victims are supported and their voices heard.
Recent enforcement activity has resulted in a number of ASB-related crimes being dealt with, and we will continue to target those responsible.
This remains a key priority for the team, with a strong emphasis on community partnership, visible policing, and long-term problem-solving.
Issue
Speeding and Traffic Offences – Speeding and Road Safety in Rural Areas
Action
We have received ongoing reports and community feedback highlighting concerns around excessive speeding and driving offences in Royal Wootton Bassett, Clack Hill, Tockenham and other surrounding rural locations.
In response, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be: conducting targeted speed enforcement operations in identified hotspot areas, engaging with communities to raise awareness around safe driving in rural environments, working with Wiltshire Council and the Road Safety Partnership to explore long-term solutions, such as signage, traffic calming, and community speed watch support
We will also review dashcam and public submissions for offences such as dangerous driving, use of mobile phones, and no seatbelt use.
We encourage all residents to report concerns via the Wiltshire Police website or by calling 101. Your information helps us focus our resources where they’re most needed.
Issue
Car Meets at Whitehill Industrial Estate
Action
We are aware of ongoing issues related to car meets and associated anti-social behaviour at Whitehill Industrial Estate, including reports of:
Excessive noise from engines and revving
Dangerous or inconsiderate driving
Littering and late-night disturbances
Large gatherings impacting local businesses and residents
In response, your local Neighbourhood Policing Team will be:
Increasing patrols during peak times, particularly evenings and weekends
Working with the landowners and local authority to identify long-term preventative measures
Using enforcement powers where appropriate, including Section 59 warnings, Traffic Offence Reports, and ASB legislation
Gathering and reviewing CCTV and dashcam footage to identify repeat offenders
We encourage the public and businesses in the area to report incidents to Wiltshire Police via 101 or online, to help us build a full picture and take appropriate action.
